Calling all UoB CompSci students & grads

Written by Ed Genochio on January 17, 2019

Are you a recent graduate (or current student) from the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham?

Stickee is a technology company based in Solihull, and we want you to join our software dev team.

We are:

  • A fun and friendly place to work
  • Innovative
  • Market-leading
  • Always striving to do even better
  • Committed your training and career development

If you are:

  • A current or recent CompSci student at the University of Birmingham
  • Looking for a part-time job while you study, or a full-time career
  • A fast learner with high standards
  • Excited by joining a team which builds key software for some of the world’s biggest companies (Apple, Vodafone, Samsung and BT, to name but a few)

…then we want to hear from you.

Please email your CV and a covering note to:

[email protected]

and we’ll take it from there. (If there’s anything you’d like to ask before you apply, just drop me a line.)

It will be helpful if you have experience in some of the following technologies:

  • Git
  • OOP
  • PHP including PHP-PSR coding standards
  • MySQL
  • ElasticSearch
  • AWS
  • HTML
  • Vue.js

Your starting salary will depend on your skills and experience. We review salaries regularly, so high-flyers will be handsomely rewarded. (And we expect everyone at Stickee to fly high!)

We also offer paid internships for those who have less PHP experience but are keen to learn.

Once you’re working for us full-time, you’ll also be eligible for our employee profit-share bonus scheme.

We have a generous holiday allowance (including a bonus day off for your birthday), we’ll contribute to your pension (never to early to start…), and you’ll be welcome to join us for our regular free social activities: recent events have included bowling, a “scrapheap challenge”, a Halloween fancy dress party, an Escape Room, drinks and dinner out, and this month I’m told we’re going Urban Axe Throwing(!?). Equally, if that’s not your bag, there’s no pressure to join. We’re a relaxed and friendly sort of place.

Want to know more? Drop me (I’m Edward) a line ([email protected]) and we’ll take it from there.

Oh, start dates? We’re ready when you are. Sooner is better, we’ve got software to build!

And, perhaps I forgot to mention, downstairs we have a free pool table, darts board, and smoothie bar.
